This Flood Warning has been issued due to the high spring tide forecast at 03:00 AM on 18/10/2024.
Flooding is expected at properties at Willington Boat Club, Wincomblee Estates in Walker, Newcastle Quayside from Wetherspoon's Pub to Broad Chare, Brama Teams Industrial Park, Ravensworth Road and sites on Clockmill Road. We are expecting higher than normal tides over the next few days and as a result we may issue further alerts or warnings. We are closely monitoring the situation and we do not currently plan to deploy the temporary barrier at Newcastle Quayside.
Please be careful along riverside footpaths and low lying land and roads which may be flooded. Start acting on your flood plan if you have one. This message will be updated by 11:00 AM on 18/10/2024, or as the situation changes.

This Flood Warning has been issued due a combination of high spring tides and a storm surge following Storm Lilian moving across the North East.
The high tide time is forecast at 06:15 on 23/08/2024, however conditions may apply two to four hours either side of the high tide.
Flooding to roads and properties at Willington Boat Club, Wincomblee Estates in Walker, Newcastle Quayside from Wetherspoon's Pub to Broad Chare, Brama Teams Industrial Park, Ravensworth Road and TAM Tyres at Clockmill Road is possible at these times. We are closely monitoring the situation and do not expect to issue the flood warning for following tides on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning.
We do not currently plan to deploy the temporary barrier at Newcastle Quayside due to forecast high winds from Storm Lilian.

A tidal surge is expected to overtop sea defences as a result of high spring tides and strong winds. Tides will be at their highest between 17:15 and 18:15 today, 14/01/2020. Flooding to properties/roads and farmland is possible at these times, however conditions may apply two to four hours either side of the high tide. Areas most at risk are properties at Willington Boat Club, Wincomblee Estates in Walker, Newcastle Quayside from Wetherspoon's Pub to Broad Chare, Brama Teams Industrial Park, Ravensworth Road and TAM Tyres at Clockmill Road. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are liaising with emergency services and erecting temporary flood barriers along the Newcastle Quayside in the Swing Bridge area. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses. This message will be updated tomorrow morning, 15/01/2020, or as the situation changes.
